Introducing the Tribit StormBox Micro 2 Portable Speaker: 90dB Loud Sound Deep Bass IP67 Waterproof Small Speaker Built-in Strap, 12H Playtime Long Battery Powerbank for Outdoor Camping Biking, 120ft Bluetooth Range available on Amazon for $60 (less a 15% discount, or $38 ‘renewed’) at the time this post was written. Here’s a picture of the Tribit StormBox Micro 2.
It’s light (315g), compact (99.8mm*99.8mm*42.9mm), wireless (Bluetooth 5.3), has great range (120ft), and great battery life (up to 12hr). All in all, it has great sound for it’s size. In addition, here are three features of the Tribit StormBox Micro 2 that make it even more amazing.
Feature 1: ‘Voice Assistant’ Integration for both Apple and Android. What does this mean? It means when your speaker is connected to your smartphone or other device, you can speak commands through it that your smart device will understand and respond to (go AI).
Feature 2: You can use the SmartID charging port to charge your phone, tablet, and other accessories. With the appropriate USB cable (which my speaker didn’t come with unfortunately), this speaker becomes a portable power-bank for your other portable devices.
Feature 3: This feature sets it apart from other portable speakers in my mind, and that’s ‘stereo mode’. With a second Tribit StormBox Micro 2, you can use something called TWS (True Wireless Stereo) Stereo Mode. This puts your two speakers in a mode that improves your audio from mono to stereo sound. For those interested in getting a really great listening experience from their portable speakers, this feature is a big deal.
So, now that I own one Tribit StormBox Micro 2 and am very happy with it, I am really tempted to buy another to get the benefit of stereo sound. I didn’t do it yet, but for only $38, it just might happen…
PS – I have one caution for those interested in buying this speaker, and that is to make sure you’re getting the Tribit StormBox Micro 2 and not the older Tribit StormBox Micro Bluetooth Speaker that normally sells for about $20 less than the Micro 2. Here’s an image of the older speaker:
The square button between the – and the + is the difference, plus it’s a whole lot less capable than it’s newer model. You’ll spend a little more, but the Micro 2 is what you want. Trust me…
Or if you don’t believe me, here’s a video that might help: Tribit StormBox Micro 2: Should you upgrade from the StormBox Micro?
Cheers!
