Episode 7- Beatles-Love, Love, Love 

Do you remember when you first heard The Beatles? In this new Episode 7: Beatles-Love, Love, Love, host Sara Shein focuses on one of the most influential bands in pop music history. Learn about the early influences on the band from Larry Lefkowitz, instructor of CLR Beatlemania courses I and II. Share Beatles memories with CLR member Larry Mantz and his son Scott. Episode 6- Zooming With CLR 

Join host Sara Weisman-Shein and CLR instructor and podcast editor, Larry Lefkowitz for a Special Summer Episode (Episode 6: Zooming With CLR) as they cover all of the ins-and-outs of Zooming with CLR this summer. Learn just how easy it is to use Zoom and gain insight into the many virtual social activities that CLR is planning. Tune in to get a sneak peek into Larry’s course Merrie Melodies (based on classic Looney Tunes), Edwin Lawrence’s Balzac and the Human Comedy, and Mark Miller’s Strategic Leadership in Times of Crisis. As you well know, these and more are offered as part of the summer 2020 CLR online pilot program!

Episode 5: CLR Goes to the Movies

Host Sara Weisman-Shein discusses the upcoming new Conversations on Cinema series that CLR, in collaboration with the County Theater in Doylestown, will be hosting this spring in Learning for Life Podcast Episode 5: CLR Goes to the Movies. Sara interviews Mike Kamison, programming director at the County Theater and Bill Lieser, prior Spy Movies instructor, who will both be moderating the series. In Episode 4: Art Matters, host Sara Weisman-Shein dialogues with Learning for Life’s podcast editor and Beatlemania: A Half Century” instructor Larry Lefkowitz. Joining them are renowned CLR art instructors Jan Marabito of Professional Artists Lecture Series and Mary Mathews from Printmaking and Mixed Media Painting. InEpisode 3: Food: It’s Personal,host Sara Weisman-Shein interviews Chef Edward Battone, Delaware Valley University Adjunct Faculty Member and facilitator of the Cooking With Chef Battone Dinner Noncredit Course Series this semester as well as Robert Brown, Delaware Valley University Adjunct Faculty Member and facilitator of the Raising Livestock on a Small Farm noncredit course. Kudos to Sara Weisman Shein (CLR Advisory Committee Member) who wrote and produced the podcast as well as Larry Lefkowitz (CLR Instructor) who provided original music, sound effects, and editing for the podcast. 

Episode 2: Crime Does Pay 

In Episode 2: Crime Does Pay ,host Sara Weisman-Shein interviews Sherry Sullivan, CLR Instructor of the Our Favorite Detectives course, and the detective author Bernard Schaffer. Bernard Schaffer was a featured author on the mystery/suspense panel at the Bucks County Book Festival on Sunday, October 13Kudos to Sara Weisman Shein (CLR Advisory Committee Member) who wrote and produced the podcast as well as Larry Lefkowitz (CLR Instructor) who provided original music, sound effects, and editing for the podcast. 

Episode 1: Inaugural Episode
The Center for Learning in Retirement is pleased to release its first Learning for Life Podcast podcast! Tune in to the inaugural podcast Episode 1: Inaugural Episode created by CLR Advisory Committee member, Sara Weisman-Shein for a real treat! Many thanks to Sara for creating the podcast and kudos to Larry Lefkowitz as well (CLR Instructor-Beatlemania) for editing and providing original music for the podcast. In Episode 1, Sara illustriously interviews two CLR instructors-Elaine Trott (History of NYC) and Ashley King (Advisory Committee Member/Instructor-What Are Your Treasures Worth?). Gain insight into the fashion must-haves for New Yorkers as well as the appraisal process for collectible and antique items. What are the advantages and disadvantages of selling your treasures at an auction? Who knew buttons could be worth that much?!
