I’m writing this post on March 28, 2021. For the first time ever, Goggle seems to have given us (Chromebook devotes) a bum update. My HP and Acer Chromebooks were updated recently and in both cases, after booting the Chromebook, the screen would go dark and lock up. The only way around the issue was to Powerwash the Chromebook with the ‘Revert’ option. This link explains how to do this (link found here).
My current working OS version is 88.0.4324.208 (Official Build) (64-bit), and after ‘reverting’, the Chromebook update page says this is the ‘current version’. Now I’m confused, but everything is working again, so I’m not complaining.
Anyway, if perchance your Chromebook is acting wonky after your last update, keep this short post in mind. All is not lost!
