To be exact, this is what I bought: Lenovo Chromebook S330 Laptop, 14-Inch FHD (1920 x 1080) Display, MediaTek MT8173C Processor, 4GB LPDDR3, 64GB eMMC, Chrome OS, 81JW0000US, Business Black for the low, low price of $161.85 (incl. tax, no shipping).
As I write this, you could go to Amazon and buy the same Chromebook for $170.27, plus $10.22 tax. It’s refurbished (Used – Very Good), but I’m pretty sure when it arrives it’ll look brand spanking new – mine did. Or if you want the 32gb model, NewEgg has it on sale for $129 here. Anyway, this review sold me on this model – Lenovo S330 Chromebook review: A great value ultra-basic laptop (and the video).
The specs are very decent for any Chromebook, let alone one selling at this price My rationale for buying the 64gb model vs 32gb was to be able to run Linux on this platform, which the S330 does very well. In fact, this is the first Chromebook in my Chromebook collection that runs Linux without complaining, along side ChromeOS and Android.
Here’s a picture of the S330:
You’ll notice the power (USB-C), HDMI, single USB port, and fulls size SD card slot on this side. The combined headphone/mic jack is on the other side. Again, this is pretty basic, but is all most of us need in a Chromebook.
All in all, the S330 has all-day battery life, decent screen resolution, and a really good keyboard. If you’re thinking about buying the S330, as of today (Oct. 1, 2019), this is what’s available (source):
“You can pick up the Lenovo S330 Chromebook at a number of online retailers. If you want the entry-level 32GB storage, HD display version, it will cost just $170 on Amazon with free tech support. Alternatively, the 64GB storage, Full HD display version costs $220. Walmart has the 32GB version at just $180, the best deal though is at NewEgg, where you can pick up a refurbished model for just $129.”
